Kristina
Kristina was born in Austria where she finished primary school and acquired German at native level. She graduated from the University of Philosophy in Zagreb where she studied German language and literature as well as the history of art. She attended the University Karl-Franzes in Graz for one semester where she took courses in conference translation, interpreting and history of art.
During her studies she began teaching German in language schools so she gained a great deal of experience working with children and adults at different levels. At the moment she is teaching at high school and during school breaks she works at Humboldt Institute e.V. in Germany.
She is attending seminars organized by the Agency of Education, workshops organized by publishing houses as well as seminars provided by Goethe Institute. She is following international methods in teaching German as a foreign language and was invited to attend a seminar organized by the Institute for Communication in Dusseldorf alongside several other delegates from across the globe.
Kristina is a communicative and curious person, always ready to accept a challenge. She loves travelling and she has visited many countries. She will introduce German culture to you and teach German in a relaxed atmosphere with great results.
Jelena
Jelena graduated from the University of Philosophy in Rijeka where she studied Croatian and English language and literature. Her graduate thesis, entitled „The treatment of Oral Errors in EFL Classroom“, was based on case studies.
During her studies she has gained experience of working in an international environment, including teaching Croatian to international undergraduates who studied in Rijeka. She also worked for an American company in a summer language school adhering to a total immersion approach. She has travelled to English speaking countries many times and worked for the British Council as an invigilator for Cambridge Exams.
She has been teaching Croatian and English for five years at high school. She has also worked at language schools with adults, teenagers and children teaching different courses levelled by CEFR A1-C2. She has also taught Business English courses to adults.
Jelena was given a scholarship to attend a course in London (Grundtvig In-Service Training: Professional Development for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) at Language Link.
She has attended seminars and workshops organized by the publishing houses Oxford University Press and Pearson Longman, as well as several conferences and webinars for teachers of English.
She is a member of the Croatian Association for Teachers of English.
Aside from teaching, she has experience of translating various kinds of texts (CVs, application letters, cover letters, business articles) into both Croatian and English.
